  • It's hilarious that NOW Liberals are starting to feel that SCOTUS is too powerful. Conservatives have been saying this for years, but NOW Liberals are feeling this way. Real funny how these people think. SCOTUS is not a political institution. Congress makes laws, not SCOTUS, which is what they have been doing for decades with their rulings!

  • Oddly, that we boo or champion nominees to the Supreme Court, based on political affiliation, shows just how far we've lost the plot, as a nation. That we're praising someone based on the predication of their sheer ability to do the very job they've been nominated for. They're supposed to be steller at making judgements based solely on the facts presented... political affiliation doesn't (Or shouldn't) figure into that equation. Is it Constitutional, yes or no? That's what their job is. It's rather sad that the Supreme Court has to be mostly republican judges, just to hint at getting back to that, due to their general support of the Constitution. I'd rather wish I couldn't say that. Don't get me wrong, this also applies to Judges on benches across the country, as well, dragging their personal beliefs and those of certain groups they're in, into the mix, then ruling based on them. I mean, when it's so bad, that lawyers know a likelihood of un/favorable outcome for their cases, based on specific judges being assigned to them, with the details of said case/s and how they line up with the beliefs of those judges... there's a huge problem.

  • Mitch McConnell and other republican senators said that the nomination should wait until after the election year. There hasn’t been a justice appointed in 80 years in an election year since Grover cleavland literally according to Mitch McConnell. There is literal video where a republican senator says, if I elect a justice in an election year you can hold me accountable. This is all extremely hypocritical. Instead of making the excuse of waiting for the next election they could have just denied a hearing with no excuse.

  • Where to start... well... its disappointing to see how uninformed people are and they all just come up and get SO unprepared to debate a topic Steven is armed to the teeth about. They just seem to show up get whiny about how it hurts their poor little feeeeely little feeelingsss about the issue. That besides the point Im particularly sad that no one, I mean NO ONE, mentioned Merrick Garland who was appointed in Obama's final year as president (and I should note EARLY on in the year on March 16). And I think its disgusting how Crowder talks about there being no precedent to not to nominate and confirm a justice when there is vacancy. You want a precedent? HERE'S MCCONNELL'S QUOTE: "the American people should have a say in the court's direction. It is a president's constitutional right to nominate a Supreme Court justice, and it is the Senate's constitutional right to act as a check on the president and withhold its consent." Ah, there's the key right? "The Senate's constitutional right to act as a check on the president." So what does he mean by that? Is he now setting the precedent that not having a hearing AT ALL falls in the Senate's list of powers? That sounds ridiculous which is precisely why Mcconnell tied it in with the situation of it being the presidents final year in office. He needed to establish a reason to not have a hearing. Because while the Senate has the power reject a nominee that implies that a fucking hearing should be held to exercise that power in the first place. It shouldnt be exercised through this back alley way of not holding a hearing altogether. Because THEN you've gotten rid of the constitutional process this whole thing revolves around. SO to sum up, the Senate has the power, mind you, to reject a presidential nominee, BUT the Republican controlled senate at the time straight REFUSED to even HOLD a FUCKING HEARING. And they kept it that merry way until Obama's 200+ remaining days in office, under the disgusting guise about the people getting the right to choose via the next president elect. Wording matters Steven. Theres your fucking precedent. Might be something else if the Senate actually HELD a hearing and rejected the nominee. But they didn't do shit. They ran out the clock and cited letting the American people getting to chose. Now Im pretty sure you knew about this Steven Crowder... so why didnt you tell these uninformed people about it? All I heard you say was there is no precedent. This is a pretty strong precedent. Regardless of party affiliation. "Do you think that's been instilled in you by biased professors? That you cant appoint a supreme court justice in an election year?" - Crowder 2020. Get the fuck out of here.

  • I’m gonna be honest. I’m a conservative and it’s completely hypocritical of the republicans to appoint ACB. Not that I wanted obama’s nominee to be in the court but the republicans had the excuse that it was too close to the election. it was in february. ACB was confirmed 8 days before the election. I’m very disappointed in the morals of these senators and they should check their hypocrisy.

Before covid, we had the lowest African American & Hispanic unemployment and highest urban small business start up rate in American history. Biden/Harris policies will do nothing to empower us. Combined with trumps policies to help strengthen the family UNIT, we have a chance to turn around decades of Democrat & media backed lies, manipulation & oppression. Encourage all your friends and families to re-elect REAL HOPE AND CHANGE! Thanks, God Bless.

The republicans said no when the democrats tried it in 2016 when Conservative Justice Antonin Scalia died in February of that year, reasoning it would be unfair and it has never been done since 1888. • "Not all women are feminists." So because certain women aren't feminists, they do not care for the rights of their *own* gender? The lack of any modicum of intellectual nuance in that statement, and that she believes that garbage -- that someone has to be a feminist to care for/represent the rights of other women when they, themselves, are of that gender -- to be some deciding factor, is absolutely grating. I do respect that she did not lose her temper and whatnot, not for nothing.

  • "I don't think she represents all women." "Why?" "Well she's not a feminist." I LOVED that. I wonder if she was ever exposed to this radical, insane, unhinged idea that PERHAPS... Feminists aren't representative of all women? Gather a group of 100 random Feminists, open Pandora's box of 'should trans women compete against biological women in women's sports?' and watch The Hunger Games commence. Tally how many times the word 'traitor' is used. Now try pro-life vs pro-abortion and get out before they torch the building. We ALL advocate for equality of gender. Any rational person believes this is accomplished under law. Some Feminists believe that, others believe in preferential treatment and affirmative action, some believe in punishing men, some believe in replacing patriarchy with matriarchy. Some have views that extend beyond the scope of equality for women, the purpose of the movement. That ANYONE believes, or can be coerced into believing, that Feminism represents or is representative of all women is bizarre. Not a single unified position. The one thing everyone does agree on across the political spectrum and Feminists aren't even unified on how best to go about it.

It’s just that the election is SO close and if Biden wins, that shows that a majority of the american people or voters want biden to make that decision. And if trump is re-elected, then that means the majority want trump to make these decisions.
